- Retail Security Officer role to protect the Waitrose store, its people, and assets by providing security and excellent customer service in line with Mitie and Waitrose key values.

- Extensive training provided including MAYBO and a focus on customer service.
- Full support from the NOC and provision of technology such as body‑worn cameras and incident‑reporting devices.

Main Duties – Operations
- Ensure compliance with all policies, regulatory requirements, and UK law as directed by the Security Account Manager.
- Engage fully with the National Operations Centre (NOC) and Mitie management; use all provided technology.
- Complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the Assignment Instructions (AI).
- Review and suggest amendments to the Assignment Instructions for continuous improvement.
- Maintain required frontline licence and complete any contractually required courses.
- Work systematically and methodically.
- Training
- Complete all required competency training.
- Undergo continuous self‑development as directed by the Security Account Manager.
- Use technology to achieve key objectives and develop job knowledge.
- Renew licence 16 weeks before expiry.
- Security and Health & Safety
- Immediately report any health & safety hazards or potential hazards.
- Remain alert to threats or changes; act to reduce risk.
- Use common sense and involve others if a situation becomes threatening.
- Maintain professional conduct with difficult customers.
- Record incidents accurately in a notebook for subsequent incident reporting.
- Adhere to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
- Ensure check calls are performed at the allocated time slots as specified in the Assignment Instructions.
- Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.
