Better places, thriving communities. We are looking for an experienced Soft Services Supervisor to join our Facilities Management team at HMP Millsike. In this key role, you will lead the Cleaning Team and Stores Operatives, ensuring high standards of service delivery across the prison.

About The Role

  • Supervise and support cleaning and stores teams to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality soft services.
  • Oversee daily cleaning operations across the prison estate.
  • Manage warehouse/stores processes including stock control, deliveries, and inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure full compliance with security procedures, health & safety regulations, and FM standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and support audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Undertake line management responsibilities, including rostering, absence management, and performance management of the team.
  • Work closely with prisoners and other partner agencies across the site.
  • Work closely with the Head of Facilities Management to deliver service excellence.
  • Work closely with the Waste and Sustainability Managers to achieve sustainability targets.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience supervising soft services teams in FM, custodial, healthcare, education, or similar environments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of cleaning operations, stock management, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively within a secure environment (HMPPS vetting required).
  • BICSc Certificate in Cleaning Supervision (desirable).
  • Full security vetting is required in this role.
  • FM-related Qualifications (desirable).
  • Proficient IT skills including MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Organised with the ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage competing demands.
  • Strong understanding and respect for confidentiality.
