Job Title

Ship Guano Cleaning Operative

Rate of Pay: £12.60 per hour

Contract: Permanent

Type of Employment: Full Time

Hours: 40 hours per week

Location: BAE Systems, 1066 Govan Road, Glasgow, Scotland, G51 4XP

Responsibilities

  • Remove and clean guano (bird droppings) from ship compartments
  • Ensure equipment is kept clean, well maintained and in safe working order
  • Meet all agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Complete the ship environment induction provided by BAE Systems
  • Follow proper guano handling and disposal procedures to minimize health risks
  • Use approved cleaning agents and equipment
  • Work safely in shipbuilding environments, including work at height and in confined spaces

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate and read basic English
  • Previous cleaning experience desirable but not essential
  • Flexible approach, self‑driven, reliable and hardworking with a professional attitude
