Starting salary of £45,000 can earn up to £49,000 when all training is completed. Typical overtime shifts at premium rates can bring an additional £3,500. Refer a friend and receive £500.

Minimum Requirements

  • Qualified RN Adult, RMN, RGN, or Paramedic (dual registration)
  • 12 months previous custody experience, 3 years post‑qualification experience in general practice, emergency medicine, walk‑in centres, substance misuse services, prison healthcare, mental health, or ambulance service as an adult RN
  • 3 years UK residency
  • Current manual driving licence without restrictions, to travel to other custody suites or local hospitals as required
  • All candidates are subject to police vetting checks

Role Responsibilities

Your main responsibility will be to lead a team of HCPs providing detained individuals with accurate assessments and ensuring their care and wellbeing needs are met. You will review rota gaps and cover as necessary, supervise and appraise HCPs, and work as part of an integrated team with the clinical lead and lead senior to ensure that local processes follow national clinical governance standards and the forces specific needs.
