Mitie is recruiting Security Guards for a new project with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) across London sites including Twickenham, Staines, Uxbridge, Hayes, Acton, Shepherd Bush, Fulham, North Kensington, Harlesden, Neasden, Harrow, Westminster. Candidates must be residents of West London or surrounding areas and possess a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe and secure environment for DWP staff, visitors, and property.
  • Patrol premises regularly to identify potential security threats.
  • Monitor and control access to the building, ensuring proper identification and verification.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies or suspicious situations.
  • Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
  • Provide high-level customer service, assisting staff and visitors in security matters.
  • Conduct routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.
  • Adhere to Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Report any health & safety hazards immediately.
  • Maintain professional conduct during difficult situations and challenging customers.
  • Keep accurate incident notebook entries and call emergency services as required.

  • Look out for and report health & safety hazards on site.
  • Stay alert to threats or changes within the work environment.
  • Take appropriate action to reduce disruption, loss or damage.
  • Use common sense and initiative, involving others if a situation becomes threatening.
  • Maintain professional conduct with difficult customers.
  • Complete accurate incident notebook entries promptly.
  • Adhere to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
  • Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report incidents.

Qualifications

  • Previous security experience.
  • DL or DS licence required.
