Retail Security Officer – M&S

Location: Norwich

Salary: £13.96 per hour

Hours: Guaranteed 40+ hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Operate in a fast‑paced retail environment, staying alert, responsive and ready to intervene when necessary.
  • Create a welcoming store environment and greet customers while delivering professional support to both customers and colleagues.
  • Help protect the M&S environment by preventing loss, responding to incidents, identifying risks and supporting safe ways of working.
  • Use store technology, including mobile reporting systems and body‑worn cameras, to support operations and incident management.
  • Maintain a calm, confident and professional demeanor in all situations.
  • Work closely with store colleagues to maintain high standards, support operations and foster a positive environment for everyone.
  • Adapt quickly to changing situations and demonstrate flexibility as retail operations evolve each day.

Requirements

  • Previous security experience preferred.
  • A valid SIA licence desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A calm, confident and professional approach.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to make sound decisions quickly.
  • A genuine passion for customer service and keeping people safe.
  • Must be able to provide a 5‑year checkable work history within the UK.
