School Caretaker

Contract: Permanent

Type: Full Time

Hours: 40 per week (09:30 to 18:00)

Pay: £13.31 per hour

Location: Woodlands School, Minstead Avenue, Harefield, Southampton, Hampshire, England, SO18 5FW

Responsibilities

  • Undertake all required training and follow Mitie\’s Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies.
  • Maintain equipment in clean, safe working order and understand all cleaning materials and chemicals used.
  • Ensure proper maintenance, cleaning, security, and safety of school premises and grounds.
  • Respond to helpdesk jobs, unlock/lock buildings, and carry out porterage and room setups.
  • Perform PPM tasks including fire alarm tests, emergency light checks, and support out-of-hours building use.

Requirements

  • Previous caretaking experience (preferred but not essential).
  • Reliable, hardworking, and professional attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Open, honest, self-driven, and determined.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality, with willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
