Retail Security Officer – M&S
Location: Rochdale Riverside
Salary: £13.58 per hour
Guaranteed 40+ hours per week
Responsibilities
- Operate in a fast‑paced retail environment, staying alert, responsive and ready to step in when needed.
- Deliver customer service by creating a welcoming store environment, greeting customers as they start shopping and supporting both customers and colleagues.
- Help keep stores safe and secure: prevent loss, respond to incidents, identify risks and support safe ways of working.
- Use store technology, including mobile reporting systems and body‑worn cameras, to support store operations and incident management.
- Remain calm under pressure, responding to challenging situations and supporting emergency procedures professionally and confidently.
- Work closely with store colleagues to maintain high standards, support operations and create a positive environment for everyone.
- Adapt quickly to changing situations, providing flexibility as retail moves fast and every day is different.
What We're Looking For
- Previous security experience is preferred.
- A valid SIA licence is desirable, although not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A calm, confident and professional approach.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to make sound decisions quickly.
- A genuine passion for customer service and keeping people safe.
