Job Overview

Mitie Care & Custody (C&C) is committed to establishing HMP Millsike as a place of restoration and rehabilitation where prisoners can unlock their full potential and reintegrate into society.

Responsibilities

  • Liaising with departmental management on recruitment needs, drafting job descriptions and person specifications, and leading on applicant administration.
  • Working with the Mitie Resourcing team to publish adverts and manage vacancy requisitions.
  • Organising assessment centres and interviews, coordinating resources and booking venues.
  • Coordinating Right to Work checks and ensuring compliance with HMPPS security clearance requirements.
  • Managing onboarding, issuing offers and contracts within a timely manner.
  • Maintaining a resource library of interview questions, job descriptions and person specifications.
  • Working with the onsite training team to allocate candidates to the correct induction and training courses.
  • Tracking attrition with the People Business Partner for workforce planning.
  • Managing recruitment and vetting processes in line with GDPR and confidentiality requirements.

Person Specification

Essential
  • Excellent communicator, written and oral.
  • Attained Enhanced Level 1 Ministry of Justice Vetting Clearance and Enhanced DBS.
  • Previous experience in an administrative role handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Intermediate or better IT skills: proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
Desirable
  • Highly organised, self‑motivated, adaptable and positive.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent time‑management and prioritisation skills.
  • Previous experience within recruitment.
  • CIPD Level 3.
