Responsibilities

• Managing with CRSM the timekeeping and attendance of the Control Room and Security team members
• Working with the wider security management team to ensure the health, safety & welfare all onsite
• Managing the security team workloads and tasks effectively, prioritising work, scheduling, and ensuring completion
• Managing effectively incidents that affect Hammerson, Mitie, occupiers and the general public
• Business Continuity and continued operation of the Security team and shopping centre following agreed SOPs and disaster recovery protocols
• Maintaining control room operations to ensure the Hammerson site and building security, and safety at all times
• Providing a professional and high standard of response to all telephone and email enquiries
• Leading the Mitie Security team on duty, ensuring all issues are dealt with correctly
• Identifying training and development needs of Security team members and coordinating training implementation with the wider security management team
• Providing supervision and support for all Mitie on‑site personnel
• Providing timely and effective communication to all within the business, including the centre manager, duty manager, wider management team and Mitie senior management on incidents that occur on or affect the centre, updates and collated incident information, daily reports, serious incident tracking, reporting and management, absence and lateness reporting, and ensuring incidents are logged and managed effectively through to completion
• Maintaining the standards of Security for access and egress for staff, contractors and visitors using systems, SOPs, and other agreed processes
• Carrying out effective and efficient patrols to aid compliance, crime prevention and the safety of all staff, contractors and visitors across the entire site
• Being fully conversant with all security related systems to ensure they meet the required standard and quality expected by the property and its operation
• Ensuring all Security staff receive the required level of supervision
• Ensuring all Security staff have read, understood and signed all relevant SOP and risk assessments
• Ensuring that complete and updated SOPs and risk assessments are followed, and raising corrective actions where site or procedure instructions are not followed
• Handling all day‑to‑day enquiries that arise in respect of the daily operation of the centre’s security
• Developing and maintaining good working relations with applicable local agencies and services, police, etc.
• Taking appropriate action to the required standard for any reasonable request from management or client
• Completing and checking all accident and health and safety reports, and uploading them to reporting systems
• Ensuring the issue of keys is in line with procedure and fully auditable
• Undertaking performance reviews and performance appraisals of those within the Security team to aid individual staff development, career progression and service delivery
