Retail Elite Security Officer – Devon & Cornwall, Payrate £16, Full UK Driving licence required. Mitie is looking for an officer to join the Total Security Management Team.
Responsibilities
- Protect customers and colleagues from physical and verbal abuse by maintaining a reassuring and professional security presence.
- Provide a highly visible presence that is easily identified by both customers and colleagues while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Proactively deter and prevent anti‑social behaviour, theft and criminal activity.
- Liaise with store management, police and other external agencies when required.
- Utilise conflict resolution skills to diffuse difficult situations that may arise within the workplace.
- Identify and rectify any situations that endanger the health, safety and well‑being of colleagues, customers and fellow officers in line with company policies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Team player with an enthusiastic attitude.
- Ability to work independently and on initiative.
- Retail security experience.
- Flexible approach to work to suit business needs, with ability to work with different teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Capable of using technology.
- Ability to identify conflict triggers and excellent mediation skills.

- Conflict resolution trained.
- Frontline Door Supervision or Security Guarding Licence essential; CCTV Licence would be beneficial.
- Proficient in using BWCCTV during confrontational situations.
- Full UK driving licence.
