Retail Elite Security Officer – Devon & Cornwall, Payrate £16, Full UK Driving licence required. Mitie is looking for an officer to join the Total Security Management Team.

Responsibilities

  • Protect customers and colleagues from physical and verbal abuse by maintaining a reassuring and professional security presence.
  • Provide a highly visible presence that is easily identified by both customers and colleagues while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Proactively deter and prevent anti‑social behaviour, theft and criminal activity.
  • Liaise with store management, police and other external agencies when required.
  • Utilise conflict resolution skills to diffuse difficult situations that may arise within the workplace.
  • Identify and rectify any situations that endanger the health, safety and well‑being of colleagues, customers and fellow officers in line with company policies.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Team player with an enthusiastic attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and on initiative.
  • Retail security experience.
  • Flexible approach to work to suit business needs, with ability to work with different teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capable of using technology.
  • Ability to identify conflict triggers and excellent mediation skills.
  • Conduct oneself to high ethical standards.
  • Conflict resolution trained.
  • Frontline Door Supervision or Security Guarding Licence essential; CCTV Licence would be beneficial.
  • Proficient in using BWCCTV during confrontational situations.
  • Full UK driving licence.
