Join to apply for the Part Time Security Officer role at Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services. Mitie is seeking security enthusiasts to join our Security Guard teams nationwide for a new project with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

Location: UK (region-wide coverage for DWP sites). Travel flexibility and a valid Full UK driving licence are required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe and secure environment for DWP staff, visitors and property.
  • Patrol premises regularly to identify potential security threats.
  • Monitor and control access to the building, ensuring proper identification and verification.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies or suspicious situations.
  • Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
  • Provide a high level of customer service and assist staff and visitors in security-related matters.
  • Conduct routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.
  • Adhere to Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and regulations.

Health & Safety

  • Look out for, and report any Health & Safety hazards on site.
  • Stay alert to threats or changes within the work environment to reduce disruption, loss or damage.
  • Maintain professional conduct in challenging situations and with customers.
  • Complete accurate, detailed notebook entries after incidents for Incident Report processes.
  • Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
  • Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report incidents.

What we are looking for

  • Previous security experience.
  • SIA Licence required; SD Licence preferred.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
