Painting and decorating equipment must be utilised efficiently, kept clean, and reused wherever practical to avoid unnecessary wastage. The role also requires attending site inductions, reading and understanding the site file, and signing all relevant receipt pages to confirm adherence to specified method statements and risk assessments. The individual must attend training courses in line with Mitie's QHSE policies and procedures and complete all painting and decorating tasks in a safe manner, wearing all required PPE at all times to minimise risk to themselves and others. Uniforms, safety boots, and name badges must be worn at all times. Accurate time sheets must be completed and submitted promptly, and local procedures must be implemented and followed as they are issued. Additionally, the role involves liaising with site management and key personnel regarding building-related issues.

The role requires candidates to hold a recognised qualification or have a minimum of three years of checkable experience in painting, with a full driving licence preferred but not essential. It is also preferable for applicants to have completed a recognised apprenticeship. The successful candidate must be organised, able to meet deadlines, self‑motivated, and a strong team player. They should be conversant with relevant legislation and compliance requirements and possess good knowledge of all aspects of Health and Safety.
