Location: Campsfield Immigration Removal Centre, Kidlington, Oxfordshire, OX5 1GN

Please note: This is a fully site-based role in Oxfordshire. Hybrid or home working is not available.

About You

The Role

Reporting to the Centre Director, you will support the safe, effective, and compliant operation of Campsfield Immigration Removal Centre. You'll lead and develop senior managers, ensure contractual and legislative compliance, and drive continuous improvement across the centre.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Centre Director in the leadership and overall operation of the centre, deputising when required.
  • Lead and develop senior managers to deliver safe, compliant, and high-performing services.
  • Oversee workforce planning, resourcing, and operational performance.
  • Maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including the Home Office, Border Force, and healthcare partners.
  • Ensure robust governance, compliance, and incident management processes are in place.
  • Drive continuous improvement while promoting a positive, inclusive culture for colleagues and residents.

What We're Looking For

  • Significant leadership experience within a detention, custodial, secure, or similarly regulated environment.
  • Proven experience leading large, multi-disciplinary teams of 50 to 200 employees, including middle management.
  • Strong contract management and compliance experience.
  • Experience managing budgets, particularly workforce and staffing costs.
  • Applications are also welcomed from experienced Heads of Function seeking progression into a Deputy Director role, particularly those who have previously covered the position on an interim basis.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Level 6 qualification or equivalent, such as a degree (BA/BSc), professional diploma, or NVQ Level 6 in a relevant discipline.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a British citizen, an EU citizen with settled status, or hold Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR).
  • Have resided in the UK for the previous three years, with limited periods spent overseas.
  • Be able to successfully complete enhanced vetting and background checks, including scrutiny of criminal convictions, financial history, and publicly available social media activity.
