Join M&S as a Security Officer, playing a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming and secure environment for our customers and colleagues.
This role requires staying calm under pressure, leading with professionalism, and taking pride in delivering great service while protecting stores, people and products.
Responsibilities
- Operate in a fast‑paced retail environment, staying alert, responsive and ready to step in when needed.
- Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers, propelling a welcoming store atmosphere, and providing professional support to customers and colleagues.
- Assist in maintaining store safety and security: prevent loss, respond to incidents, identify risk and support safe procedures.
- Utilize store technology including mobile reporting systems and body‑worn cameras to support store operations and incident management.
- Act calmly and professionally in demanding situations or emergency procedures.
- Collaborate with store colleagues to maintain high standards, support operations and foster a positive environment.
- Remain flexible, adapt quickly to changing situations to support store requirements.
Qualifications
- Previous security experience is preferred.
- A valid SIA licence is desirable, however not mandatory.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A calm, confident, professional demeanor.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to make sound decisions.
- A genuine passion for customer service and keeping people safe.
- Must be able to provide a 5‑year checkable work history within the UK.
