Are you naturally observant, calm under pressure, and ready to play a vital role in keeping retail spaces safe? We are looking for a Store Detective to work across the B&Q store network in Nottingham, helping to deter theft, support investigations, and create a safer shopping environment for all.
What You'll Be Doing
- Actively observe and detect theft or suspicious behaviour, taking appropriate action including apprehension where required.
- Build strong working relationships with local police, crime partnerships, and internal teams to stay ahead of crime trends.
- Develop local intelligence networks to disrupt organised retail crime.
- Maintain accurate and timely incident reports; attend court when required to give evidence.
- Support audits and space utilisation projects to improve store efficiency.
- Monitor CCTV and electronic tagging systems to enhance store security.
What We're Looking For
- A calm, confident communicator who can quickly assess and respond to situations.
- Previous customer-facing or security experience—store detective background is a major plus.
- Valid SIA licence is essential.
- Valid UK driver’s licence required for travel between store locations.
- Sharp observational skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
- Confident in challenging individuals and making swift, informed decisions.
- Proactive, motivated attitude—someone who takes pride in preventing crime and protecting others.
