We’re looking for a friendly, confident Security Supervisor to lead and support our Security team at M&S Newcastle. In this role you will keep our customers, colleagues and store safe while helping your team deliver excellent service every day. You will be a positive leader, ensuring safety standards are met and supporting your team to thrive.
Hours: Full‑Time, 50 hours per week
Pay: £14.67 per hour
Shifts: Tuesday to Saturday
Location: M&S Newcastle, NE1 7AS
Experience required: Supervisory experience in security
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and organise the day‑to‑day work of the Security Officer team, keeping operations running smoothly.
- Serve as the first point of contact for the team, setting the standard for professional conduct, appearance, and behaviour.
- Provide welcoming and clear training and inductions for new Security Officers.
- Encourage teamwork, build confidence, and keep morale high within your team.
- Assist with investigations into any security issues, such as theft or missing items.
- Work with customers and colleagues to provide helpful and friendly service.
- Ensure all health, safety, and data protection rules are followed.
- Keep accurate security logs and handovers to ensure smooth communication between shifts.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience & Leadership: Proven experience in security and supervising a team.
- SIA License: Essential for this role.
- Communication: Clear and confident in both speaking and writing.
- Tech‑Savvy: Comfortable using computers and security systems.
- Motivated & Reliable: Able to work independently and inspire your team.
- Problem Solver: Calm, professional, and tactful in handling challenges.
- Team Player: Creates a supportive and positive environment for colleagues.
- Dependable: Excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Experience: At least 5 years’ working history in security or related roles.
