RHI is a growing and forward-thinking security and technology contractor, specialising in CCTV, Access Control and Cyber/Technology systems delivered to some of the UK's largest Utility and Infrastructure clients. We are now seeking a Quality Advisor to support initially our Cyber/Technology Team, with development into civils, earthing and fabrication functions, and ensure the highest standards of quality, workmanship and compliance across UK-wide projects. UK travel is a requirement of the role, therefore a full UK driving licence is mandatory.
About The Role
As a Quality Advisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all works are delivered in line with company procedures, client standards, industry regulations, UK Legislation and contractual requirements. You will work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, site teams and clients to promote a strong quality-focused culture across the business. You will provide independent assurance, conduct inspections and audits, support continuous improvement, and ensure that quality is embedded at every stage of project delivery within the various operational environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all projects are delivered in accordance with RHI quality systems, procedures and project documentation.
- Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Carry out site inspections, quality assurance audits and compliance checks across UK-wide projects.
- Review job packs, Data Books, inspection and test plans (ITPs), commissioning records and as-built documentation.
- Verify that installations meet design specifications, workmanship standards and client requirements.
- Ensure works comply with relevant legislation, industry standards and client frameworks, including utilities environments.
- Identify quality related non-conformances and support corrective and preventative actions.
- Work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to resolve quality issues pragmatically, efficiently and professionally.
- Promote best practice in installation quality, testing, inspection and documentation control.
- Interface professionally with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and support to site teams on quality expectations and requirements.
- Maintain accurate quality records and reporting.
- Support audits from clients, principal contractors and external bodies as required.
Essential Competencies & Qualifications
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or formal Quality Management Systems.
- Proven experience in a Quality, Assurance, Compliance or Inspection role within a highly regulated environment.
- Strong working knowledge of quality management systems, procedures and compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting or delivering quality audits, inspections or assurance activities (internal or client-facing).
- Understanding of utilities, infrastructure, energy, construction or technology-based projects.
- Ability to interpret and assess design information, specifications, standards and workmanship quality.
- Experience working to strict client, regulatory and safety frameworks.
- Strong understanding of Health, Safety and Quality principles and their application on live sites.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.
- High level of attention to detail and ability to identify non-conformances and improvement opportunities.
- Full UK Driving Licence with a good driving record.
- Ability to pass background national security checks and drug & alcohol testing in line with company policy (Drug Free Workplace).
Advantageous (Not Essential)
- Experience working on National Grid, National Gas or similar utility frameworks.
- Experience within gas, electricity transmission, substations or critical national infrastructure environments.
- Experience of nuclear or petro-chem clients and environments.
- Experience supporting client audits or regulatory inspections.
- EUSR Safety, Health & Environmental Awareness (Gas or Power).
