Join Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services as a Multi‑Skilled Mechanical Engineer. This shift‑based role operates on a 4‑shift on, 4‑shift off rotation across day and night shifts (07:00‑19:00 and 19:00‑07:00).
Shift Details and Schedule
- 4 shifts on, 4 shifts off
- Rotation includes day shifts 07:00‑19:00 and night shifts 19:00‑07:00
Responsibilities
- Report to a Shift Leader and undertake electrical & mechanical works across the London Estate.
- Perform both reactive and planned maintenance to ensure 24‑hour coverage.
- Use diagnostic equipment and technical manuals to identify plant defects, warning lights and indicators.
- Maintain building services such as power distribution, motor controls, lighting systems, standby generators, fire alarm/PA systems, control systems, inverter operation, and certification.
Qualifications
- City & Guilds craft certificate or equivalent (ONC).
- Recognised craft apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
- Two years of post‑apprenticeship experience in a similar role.
- Comprehensive understanding of Building Services.
- Certificate & Guidance Level 3 in HVAC/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (desirable).
- Willingness to complete full, intrusive security checks.
