Reporting to: Technical Supervisor
Main Duties
- Ensure all equipment and services are maintained and operated safely, in compliance with Health & Safety regulations and SFG20 standards.
- Monitor and carry out regular inspections as part of the preventative maintenance programme.
- Record and maintain logs of inspection reports and remedial actions taken.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of statutory regulations and ensure adherence to all safety procedures.
- Perform electrical repairs and installations as required; report any defects during service visits.
- Liaise with clients on site and deliver excellent customer service at all times.
- Assist other team members with tasks when required.
- Complete and submit job reports within one hour of task completion.
- Collect parts/goods from suppliers when authorised by the Line Manager.
- Execute all electrical maintenance and installation work safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all planned maintenance tasks are completed on schedule.
- You may be requested to work with and support our Minor New Works Team.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified to Level 2/3 City & Guilds 2330 and/or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation.
- City & Guilds 2391 – Inspection & Testing (training available if not currently held).
- Proven experience in electrical installation and maintenance, particularly in the services or facilities management sector.
- Ability to undertake all aspects of electrical maintenance and installation within the scope of the contract.
- Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills; able to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Competent in accurately recording work using worksheets and digital systems.
- Must hold a valid full UK driving licence.
- Familiarity with a wide range of electrical systems and installations.
- Self‑sufficient in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems.
- Knowledge of and compliance with information security protocols (e.g., Mitie standards).
- Eligibility and ability to obtain and maintain MOD security clearance and DBS clearance. Must have resided in the UK for at least 3 years and have continuous 3 years employment.
- Proof of right to work in the UK is essential.
Desirable Qualifications And Experience
- 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
- Authorised Person qualification (current or previously held).
- IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
- Previous experience working in MOD environments.

- No call‑outs required – this role operates on a fixed Monday‑Friday schedule with no shift work.
- Uniform and all necessary tools are fully supplied by Mitie.
- MOD security clearance and DBS Standard required. To meet national security vetting requirements, you will normally need to have been resident in the UK for at least 3 years to gain a Counter‑Terrorist Check, 5 years for Security Clearance and 10 years for Developed Vetting prior to the date of application. All Developed Vetted posts are required to be UK Nationals.
