Retail Security Officer – M&S, Manchester.
Guaranteed 40 hours per week.
Salary £14.58 per hour.
Must be able to cover the following areas: Manchester, Greater Manchester, Stretford, Prestwich, Trafford Centre, Ashton Moss, Stockport, Walkden, Altrincham, Bury the Rock & surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
- Operate in a fast‑paced retail environment, staying alert, responsive and ready to intervene when needed.
- Provide a welcoming store environment, greeting customers and offering professional support to both customers and colleagues.
- Help keep the store safe and secure by preventing loss, responding to incidents, identifying risks and supporting safe ways of working.
- Use store technology, including mobile reporting systems and body‑worn cameras, to support store operations and incident management.
- Remain calm under pressure, responding to challenging situations and supporting emergency procedures with professionalism.
- Work closely with store colleagues to maintain high standards, support operations and create a positive environment for everyone.
- Adapt quickly to changing situations, demonstrating flexibility as retail moves fast and each day is different.
Qualifications
- Previous security experience preferred.
- Valid SIA licence desirable but not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Calm, confident and professional approach.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to make sound decisions quickly.

- All candidates must provide a 5‑year checkable work history within the UK.
