Area Relief Officer
Protect our customer's property, people and assets by providing security services in accordance with the site's published Assignment Instructions and any subsequent changes.
Deliver results that meet or exceed key performance indicators and service levels, and undertake additional training for continuous development.
Responsibilities
- Protect property, people and assets in line with Assignment Instructions.
- Meet or exceed key performance indicators and service level agreements, supporting contract retention.
- Undertake additional training for continuous self‑development.
- Ensure compliance with all policies, legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and UK law.
- Complete all site tasks and duties defined in the Assignment Instructions.
- Review and suggest improvements to the Assignment Instructions to enhance service quality.
- Maintain required licences (front‑line licence in Security Guarding or Door Supervision, CCTV PSS SIA Licence) and renew licences 16 weeks before expiry.
- Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
- Follow instructions and procedures without unnecessarily challenging authority.
- Work systematically, using technology to achieve key objectives and develop job knowledge.
- Identify and immediately report health and safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
- Stay alert to threats or changes in the work environment and take appropriate action to mitigate risks.
- Use common sense and initiative to involve others if a situation becomes threatening.
- Maintain professional conduct during difficult situations and with challenging customers.
- Accurately record incidents in a notebook as soon as possible, supporting the Incident Report process.
- Adhere to schedules, demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client, and ensure check calls are conducted at the allocated times.
- Call emergency services and the Communications Centre to report all incidents.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Previous security experience.
- Valid SIA licence.
- SC clearance desirable.
- Ownership of a vehicle and willingness to travel at short notice.
- Valid business vehicle insurance.
