As an Operations Manager, you will be at the forefront of leading a team of MAC Managers and MAC Program Managers across our client's estate. We are seeking a candidate with substantial operational management expertise, capable of coaching and nurturing their team to deliver person‑centred support for the business. Collaboration with the Head of MAC is crucial to drive both financial and operational excellence within your region, ensuring adherence to the highest quality standards and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The role offers autonomy and flexibility, enabling you to manage your own workload, participate in meetings, maintain visibility in services, and oversee administrative responsibilities. Regular travel to client sites and Mitie offices forms part of the regional working arrangement.

Role Responsibility

  • Lead, manage, and develop a regional team of MAC Managers and MAC Programme Managers to ensure the consistent delivery of high‑quality, compliant, and commercially effective MAC services across the client estate.
  • Provide clear guidance and day‑to‑day leadership, setting performance expectations and promoting behaviours aligned with Mitie values and the One Mitie approach.
  • Maintain strong engagement with colleagues by being visibly active across the region, attending sites, meetings, and one‑to‑one interactions.
  • Manage and develop your team, including objective setting, performance management, coaching, and ongoing development.
  • Support succession planning and ensure team resilience during periods of leave or increased demand.
  • Oversee regional performance, ensuring standards for quality, health and safety, compliance, financials, and customer satisfaction are consistently achieved.
  • Address underperformance promptly and drive improvement.
  • Plan resources effectively across the region, balancing workloads and priorities to meet client and business objectives, resolving conflicts and supporting escalations as needed.
  • Act as a senior point of escalation for operational, commercial, and people‑related matters, offering guidance and decision‑making support to your team, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Head of MAC and senior stakeholders to align regional delivery with strategic objectives and client expectations, fostering a positive, accountable, high‑performing team culture.
  • Encourage continuous improvement and support colleagues to deliver successful outcomes for clients, the people we support, and the wider Mitie business.

Job Description

The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for the operational leadership and development of a regional team, ensuring the provision of MAC services such as staff and IT relocations, furniture changes and provision, reutilisation, minor refurbishments, decommissions, and light construction. The role encompasses direct accountability for team performance, resource planning, compliance, and the delivery of projects within the MAC definition scope. The manager is expected to support strategic alignment, uphold quality standards, and maintain commercial effectiveness across the estate, whilst adapting to business needs and providing a visible leadership presence at client sites.
