Mitie is seeking passionate Security Guards to support the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) across various sites in Kingston and surrounding areas.
Job Overview
- Provide flexibility to travel between DWP sites.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment for DWP staff, visitors, and property.
- Patrol premises regularly to identify potential security threats.
- Monitor and control access to the building, ensuring proper identification and verification.
- Respond effectively to emergencies or suspicious situations.
- Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
- Provide a high level of customer service and assist staff and visitors with security-related matters.
- Conduct routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.
- Adhere to Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and regulations.
Security and Health & Safety
- Report any health and safety hazards immediately.
- Stay alert to threats or changes in the work environment and take appropriate action to reduce risks.
- Use common sense and initiative; involve others if a situation appears threatening.
- Maintain professional conduct with difficult customers.
- Complete accurate incident notebooks promptly for the Incident Report process.
- Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
- Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.
