Job Description: Dual Role - 36 Hour Relief Control Room Operator/Security Officer

Mitie Business Services is the UK’s leading facilities management and professional services company.

You will work as a dual officer – Control Room Operator and Security Officer – at BBC Broadcasting House, London, W1A 1AA.

Hours

36 hours per week. Relief officer schedule: Monday to Sunday – day shift (07:00‑19:00) and night shift (19:00‑07:00).

Hourly Rate

£14.80.

Responsibilities

  • Dual officer role – Control Room Operator and Security Officer
  • Deliver excellent customer service
  • Maintain concentration, coordinate and multitask
  • Communicate effectively and produce clear reports
  • Physical protection of the premises and preservation of life
  • Prevent loss of assets, critical technology, sensitive information or reputational damage
  • Use client knowledge to minimise business impact, escalating when appropriate and understanding critical systems
  • Oversee perimeter access through reception for staff, tenants, contractors and visitors
  • PATROL, search, and respond to emergency procedures
  • Monitor access and egress of personnel and guests, responding to breaches
  • Maintain clear and legible records and logbook
  • Adhere to health & safety at all times
  • Incident management
  • Other duties as required
