Front of House Officer – Customer Service blend role of Porter and Messenger service duties on MOPAC Staff to the MPS Sites.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the focal point for receiving guests, visitors and external MOPAC staff to MPS sites.
  • Greet visitors, answer telephone calls, check identities, issue passes and escort guests to their hosts.
  • Set up rooms and venues as requested, assist site management in relocating furniture and items.
  • Receive, sort, distribute and store internal and external mail; collect letters to be franked and use the franking machine as required.
  • Provide customer‑services support, including answering emails and phone queries.
  • Maintain a quality reception area and uphold appropriate standards of conduct, dress, hygiene and appearance.
  • Ensure visitors experience a polite, efficient and professional environment.
  • Safeguard the security of the premises and report any building faults or health and safety concerns.
  • Provide booking services for rooms and helpdesk support for reactive maintenance.
  • Maintain telephone systems, computer systems and equipment, and replenish supplies such as crockery and equipment as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with client policies on recycling, waste disposal, dress and hygiene regulations.
  • Attend mandatory meetings, training courses and participate in the continuous improvement of operations.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by management.

Person Specification

  • Excellent customer‑service experience, preferably face‑to‑face, email and telephone.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Flexible, reliable and well‑organised with initiative and a good sense of time management.
  • Enthusiastic and hardworking, with strong verbal communication skills and, where possible, a second language.
