We are looking for passionate security enthusiasts to join our Security Guard teams nationwide for a new project with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). This is an opportunity to be part of a professional team that makes a difference across the United Kingdom.

Responsibilities

  • Travel flexibly to cover various DWP sites within Southeast London.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for DWP staff, visitors, and property.
  • Patrol premises regularly to identify potential security threats.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies or suspicious situations.
  • Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
  • Provide a high level of customer service and assist staff and visitors in security-related matters.
  • Conduct routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.
  • Adhere to Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Report Health & Safety hazards or potential hazards immediately.
  • Stay alert to threats or changes in the work environment and take appropriate action to reduce disruption, loss or damage.
  • Use common sense and initiative by involving others if a situation becomes threatening.
  • Maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
  • Complete detailed notebook entries after incidents to support the Incident Report process.
  • Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
  • Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Previous security experience.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
  • DS licence preferred.
