Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services is looking for a dedicated Security Officer to join our Birmingham Lichfield team. This role involves protecting property, people and assets, meeting key performance indicators, and continuously developing your professional skills.
Job Overview
- Provide security services in accordance with the customer’s Assignment Instructions and any subsequent changes.
- Deliver results that meet or exceed the agreed Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements.
- Pursue additional training and self‑development to maintain and enhance your professional capabilities.
Main Duties – Operations
- Adhere to all policies, legal and regulatory requirements, and guidance from the Security Account Manager.
- Complete all tasks defined in the Assignment Instructions fully and satisfactorily.
- Proactively review and suggest improvements to the Assignment Instructions.
- Maintain required licences (Security Guarding, Door Supervision, CCTV PSS SIA) and renew them 16 weeks before expiry.
- Comply with all safety and legal obligations and follow procedures without unnecessary challenge to authority.
- Work systematically and methodically to achieve service objectives.
Training
- Complete all required competency training.
- Participate in ongoing training directed by the Security Account Manager.
- Leverage technology to achieve key work objectives and enhance job knowledge.
Security & Health & Safety
- Identify and report health and safety hazards and potential risks immediately.
- Respond to threats, reducing the risk of disruption, loss or damage.
- Use common sense and request assistance when situations become threatening.
- Maintain professional conduct with difficult situations and customers.
- Record incidents accurately in a notebook, contributing to the Incident Report process.
- Adhere to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
- Make emergency calls and report incidents through the Communication Centre.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous security experience.
- Valid driving licence and vehicle access.
- Current SIA Licence.
