Salary

Starting salary: £45,000 Progression: Up to £49,000 once all professional development pathway training is passed following assessments.

About The Role

As a senior leader within our service, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring detained individuals receive safe, accurate and compassionate healthcare.

You Will

  • Lead, support and supervise a team of Healthcare Professionals, ensuring high‑quality clinical assessments, robust documentation and consistent care standards.
  • Oversee rota management, stepping in where necessary to maintain safe staffing and service continuity.
  • Work closely with the Clinical Lead as part of an integrated leadership team, ensuring local processes reflect National Clinical Governance Standards.
  • Champion best practice, continuous improvement and a culture of clinical excellence.

Your clinical expertise, leadership strengths and commitment to high standards will have a meaningful daily impact in the custody environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • A qualified RN Adult, RMN (dual registration welcomed), RGN or Paramedic
  • Able to demonstrate a minimum of 12 months' Custody experience
  • Three years post‑qualification experience gained in one or more of the following: General Practice, Emergency Medicine, Walk‑in Centres, Substance Misuse Services, Prison Healthcare, Mental Health Services, Ambulance Service
  • A UK resident for a minimum of 3 years
  • Holder of a full manual driving licence (no restrictions), with the ability to travel to other custody suites and local hospitals as required
  • Able to pass police vetting checks
