Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services invites applications for the Corporate Relief Officer position covering core officers’ annual leave, long‑term sickness, short‑notice blow‑outs, and AdHoc requests across Peterborough, Kings Lynn, Huntingdon and Cambridge.
Job Overview
Protect customers’ property, people and assets by providing security services in accordance with the site’s Assignment Instructions (AI) and any subsequent changes. Meet or exceed the Key Performance Indicators / Service Level Agreements for the customer, delivering a service that supports contract retention. Complete all required competency training and undertake additional training for continuous self‑development.
Main Duties
- Ensure compliance with all policies, relevant legal and regulatory requirements, UK law and guidance bodies as directed by the Security Account Manager.
- Carry out all tasks and duties on site as defined in the published Assignment Instructions.
- Review Assignment Instructions regularly and suggest amendments to improve the level of service.
- Maintain the front‑line licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervision) and the CCTV PSS SIA Licence at all times, and renew licences 16 weeks before expiry.
- Comply with all legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
- Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessarily challenging authority.
- Work systematically and orderly to meet scheduled commitments.
Training & Development
- Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training.
- Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development.
- Renew licences and undertake additional training as directed by the Security Account Manager.
Security and Health & Safety
- Report Health & Safety hazards or potential hazards immediately.
- Remain alert to threats or changes in the work environment to reduce disruptions, loss or damage.
- Use common sense and initiative; involve others if a situation appears threatening.
- Maintain professional conduct in difficult situations and with challenging customers.
- Record accurate, detailed notebook entries promptly after any incident, contributing to the Incident Report process.
- Adhere to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
- Ensure check calls are conducted at the allocated time slots as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions.
- Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous security experience.
- Active SIA licence.
- SC clearance desirable.
- Driving licence and own car to travel to sites.
- Ability to work day and night shifts, Monday–Sunday. Most shifts are 12 hours in length.
