Responsibilities
- Operational Health & Safety Support (Night Shift)
- Provide on-site HSE advisory support to night‑shift operational teams.
- Monitor compliance with approved RAMS, permits and safe systems of work.
- Undertake proactive safety conversations and encourage positive safety behaviours.
- Intervene where unsafe acts or conditions are observed, taking immediate corrective action where necessary.
- Support the safe set‑up, execution and demobilisation of night‑time works
- Monitoring, Inspections & Assurance
- Conduct night‑time safety inspections, tours and task observations.
- Ensure PPE, plant, equipment and work areas are used and maintained correctly.
- Record findings accurately and report actions through agreed reporting processes.
- Monitor close‑out of corrective actions and escalate unresolved issues.
- Incident Reporting & Investigation Support
- Support the initial response to incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions occurring during night operations.
- Ensure incidents are reported promptly and accurately in line with MITIE and client procedures.
- Assist the Senior Night Advisor with investigations, evidence gathering and statements as required.
- Ensure immediate learning is shared with night‑shift teams
- Stakeholder & Team Engagement
- Act as the HSE point of contact for night‑shift personnel.
- Support supervisors and managers with H&S compliance queries.
- Provide clear handovers to the Senior Night Advisor and day‑shift HSE teams.
- Promote a consistent safety culture across shifts
- Business Resilience Responsibilities
- Follow established operating procedures relating to emergency response and business continuity.
- Support night‑time emergency arrangements and evacuation processes.
- Ensure awareness of night‑shift emergency roles and controls.
- Participate in exercises and briefings as required
- Health, Safety & Environment
- Comply fully with MITIE and client HSE policies and procedures.
- Report any deficiencies in systems, equipment or controls that may impact safety or the environment.
- Use all PPE and equipment correctly and in line with training.
- Raise training needs or concerns with the Senior Night Advisor
- Information Security
- Ensure compliance with Mitie's and Clients information security procedures in all activities
- Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager
- Report actual and suspected security incidents
