Job Overview
Mitie is looking for passionate security enthusiasts to join the Security Guard teams nationwide for an upcoming project with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple DWP sites within the London region to maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, visitors, and property.
Key Responsibilities
- Flexibility to travel to various DWP sites within the London region including Westminster, Fulham, Acton, Shepherd Bush, Harlesden, North Kensington, Neasden, Hayes, Harrow, Watford, Borehamwood, Hatfield, Twickenham, Kingston, Hounslow, Uxbridge, Staines.
- Full UK driving licence required.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment for the DWP staff, visitors and property.
- Patrol the premises regularly to identify potential security threats.
- Monitor and control access to the building, ensuring proper identification and verification.
- Respond effectively to emergencies or suspicious situations.
- Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
- Provide a high level of customer service and assist staff and visitors in any security‑related matter.
- Conduct routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.
- Adhere to Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures and regulations.
- Security and Health & Safety
- Report any health and safety hazards immediately.
- Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment to take appropriate action.
- Use common sense and initiative, invoking others if a situation appears threatening.
- Maintain professional conduct when dealing with difficult situations and challenging customers.
- Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry after any incident as part of the Incident Report process.
- Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
- Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.
Requirements
- Previous security experience.
- DS Licence required.
- UK full driving licence.
