M&S Store detective – 45 hours per week, 5 days a week including weekends. All travel paid for. Public Transport and/or Car mileage. Location – M&S Swindon, Bath, Bristol, Cheltenham, Gloucester. Pay – £15.91 per hour. Candidate must have 5 years trackable working history in the UK and a valid SIA front line license.
Job Overview: Our client is the UK’s premier high street retailer. As a Store Detective, you will operate across their network of stores and utilise your observation skills to help prevent theft of stock. The work of the Detective team is crucial in the identification, apprehension and prosecution of criminals who target our client. M&S discount (20%) after 6 months employment.
Main Duties:
- Observe, deter and arrest those taking part in criminal activity in line with Theft Act.
- Follow ASCONE process.
- Work with SOC CCTV operators to identify and stop offenders.
- Liaise with police forces and other crime prevention partners to keep up to date with crime trends.
- Build local network to identify and disrupt crime.
- Report incidents accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Occasionally attend court to provide evidence.
What we are looking for?
- You will need to be highly adaptable.

- Experience in a customer facing role with a strong customer service background.
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), preferably with a GCSE of equivalent in English.
