We are seeking an experienced, fit, and versatile Multi‑Skilled Operative to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of practical skills across construction, maintenance, and building operations, with a solid understanding of health and safety regulations and at least 5 years of hands‑on experience in the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out a variety of tasks across civil works and building services, including groundworks, drainage, concreting, kerbing, reinstatement, minor bricklaying, carpentry, plumbing, plastering, and decorating.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Interpret and work from technical drawings, site plans, and specifications.
- Liaise with site managers, contractors, and other trades to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Conduct routine inspections and diagnose faults in existing installations.
- Follow all site‑specific and general health and safety procedures.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe, clean condition.
- Complete daily job sheets, risk assessments, and compliance documentation.
- Confident and competent with PDA usage for job allocation/completion.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the construction/building industry.
- Demonstrated experience in civil engineering works.
- Qualifications in Building Services (e.g., NVQ/SVQ Level 2 or higher in Carpentry, Bricklaying, Civils, etc.).
- CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
- Valid Health and Safety training certification (e.g., CITB Site Safety Plus, SSSTS/SMSTS, or equivalent).
- Knowledge of safe systems of work, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Physically fit and mobile to work across various job sites.
- Full UK driving licence (or relevant licence for location).
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
- CPCS / NPORS certification for relevant plant machinery.
- PASMA or IPAF certification.
- First Aid at Work qualification.
- Asbestos Awareness certification.
- Confined Spaces certification.
