Fire Alarm and Gas Suppression Design Engineer

Roles And Responsibilities

• Reading project specific consultant specification.
• Reading and reviewing project specific drawings, documents, and proposals.
• Applying fire alarm and gas suppression knowledge to design systems.
• The production of 3D models and ongoing co‑ordination with the client and other trades during the development of the contract design.
• Being in contact with suppliers to ensure you are up to date with the latest market developments and products.
• Maybe required to travel abroad for client meetings.
• Liaising with clients.
• Attending online and in person meetings.
• Dialogue with project and sales teams.
• Internal handover meetings upon project award.

Essential Skills

• Understanding of Fire Alarm and Gas Suppression related standards BS5839, BS6266, BS7273, BSEN15004 etc.
• Use of AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks for 2D and 3D design work.
• Qualifications in industry standard and products would be an advantage.
• Previous experience in the fire alarm industry.
• Understanding of the commercial implications of what you are designing.
• A can‑do hands‑on attitude.
• Excellent customer service skills, with a friendly approach.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work as a team.
• Willingness to learn and develop.
• Reliability.
• Team Player.
