Retail Security Officer role to protect the Waitrose store, its people, and assets by providing security and excellent customer service through Mitie and Waitrose key values.

£14.05 per hour payrate alongside numerous Mitie benefits including Save As You Earn, Share Incentive Plan, Cycle to Work, Life Assurance and Childcare Vouchers.

Full and extensive training will be provided including MAYBO and key focus on customer service.

Company funded SIA licence renewal.

Fully supported by the NOC and be provided with technology such as body worn camera and incident reporting device.

Delivering results that meet and/or exceed the expectations of Mitie and Waitrose by using all technology provided and following ASCONE guidance.

Main Duties

• Operations
• Ensure compliance with all aspects of policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK Law and Guidance bodies.
• Fully engage with National Operations Centre (NOC) and Mitie management and use all technology provided, including body cams and mobile devices to aid in the reporting of all incidents.
• Fully and satisfactorily complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AI’s).
• Proactively refer to and review the published Assignment Instructions, familiarise oneself with any changes and suggest amendments to improve service.
• Obtain and wear a front‑line licence in either Security Guarding or Door Supervision, and complete any additional courses as required.
• Work in a systematic, methodical, and orderly manner.
• Training
• Complete required competency training and continuous self‑development as directed by the Security Account Manager.
• Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge through continual professional development.
• Ensure licence renewal 16 weeks before expiry.
• Security and Health & Safety
• Immediately report any health & safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
• Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment to take appropriate action to reduce disruption, loss or damage.
• Use common sense and initiative by involving others if a situation appears threatening.
• Maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
• Complete accurate, detailed notebook entries after incidents for the Incident Report process.
• Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
• Ensure check calls are carried out at allocated time slots as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions.
• Call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.
