Emergency Response Security Officer

Location: Derby, Rolls‑Royce contract. Mitie Security Ltd is recruiting Emergency Response Security Officers for a dual role of emergency response and security duties. Applicants must be able to cover 12‑hour shifts, days and nights.

Hourly rate: £13.20 PH

Contracted hours: 56 per week

Main duties

• Respond to automatic fire alarms
• Handle security incidents and medical response
• Provide emergency medical care until external emergency services arrive
• Carry out maintenance and testing of fire extinguishers (where trained)
• Run weekly checks on Automatic Fire Alarm Systems, Intruder Detection Systems, Panic Alarms, Refuge Alarms, Lift Alarms and record results on appropriate report forms
• Carry out weekly sprinkler set and Sprinkler pump testing and record on insurance sprinkler test cards
• Carry out monthly checks on site interceptors, fire doors, evacuation call points and record on appropriate report forms
• Perform annual tests of fire hydrants and record results
• Conduct daily vehicle checks ensuring all equipment is serviceable and report defects
• Ensure that all equipment carried on emergency vehicles is checked using vehicle inventory
• Monitor compliance standards and behaviours of security personnel against protocols, identifying performance standards

Qualifications

• Frontline SIA licence
• Full UK manual car driving licence
• Professional, courteous and respectful at all times
• Take pride in personal appearance
• Pass all required security and background checks, including previous 5‑year employment history
• Ongoing training and development
