This is an exciting opportunity to join Mitie Intelligence Services (MIS) as part of the Intelligence Hub, in a new role within the rapidly evolving and growing team. This role will focus on delivering a portfolio of intelligence services for critical national infrastructure organisations within the UK energy sector. The analyst supports internal and external stakeholders in identifying and assessing immediate and emerging threats in areas such as terrorism, hostile state activity, crime, activism, fixated persons and industrial actions.
Job Purpose
To deliver reliable, actionable intelligence concerning security risks to key stakeholders associated with the sector, identifying threats, risks and vulnerabilities, and contributing to creating a safe and secure environment for clients, people, and assets.
Scope of the Role
Working with various key internal and external stakeholders to support the delivery of a range of intelligence products and services, providing a first‑class intelligence service in support of critical national infrastructure organisations within the UK energy sector.
Key Accountabilities And Role Overview
Working with the key Mitie stakeholders, the account manager, the Intelligence Hub, and other internal and external stakeholders to deliver a range of intelligence products and service lines relevant to sector‑specific security concerns. Responsibility for the creation of high‑quality, relevant and concise intelligence reports and briefings covering threats to physical security such as terrorism, crime and activism, including thematic intelligence reports and products focused on threats to people, assets and events. Delivering intelligence briefings for senior Mitie and customer representatives, both strategically and during live incidents related to national and international events. Attending internal and external stakeholder meetings to brief the strategic intelligence picture and build customer relationships with stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
Key Skills And Experience
- Degree‑educated, or an equivalent qualification, in a relevant subject matter area.
- At least two years of experience within a threat intelligence environment, such as the military, government, law enforcement or security sectors.
- Highly skilled at building relationships with customers and partners.
- Ability to work at pace and demonstrate responsiveness and agility to customer demands, with a ‘can‑do’ attitude and a desire to problem‑solve and deliver exceptional service.
- Ability to formulate logical and measured assessments of risk/threat based on available information while understanding the intelligence requirements of customers.
- Demonstrable experience in processing and analysing both qualitative and quantitative data.
- Demonstrable experience in creating intelligence products.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail and fluency in spoken and written English.
- Reliable, flexible and discreet.
- Demonstrable working knowledge of global events and the global security landscape.
- Experience in interrogating and exploiting open sources as a source of threat intelligence.
