Requirements
- Registered (Adult) Nurses / RGNs, or Paramedics with 2 years post qualification experience
- Flexibility to work across base Custody suite and an assigned region
What you can expect to earn
- £20.50 per hour for 1-2 shifts
- £22.50 per hour for 3-5 shifts
- £24.50 per hour for 6+ shifts
Experience - Essential
- RN, RGN or (RMN with dual registration): 2 years post qualification - Band 5 minimum
- Paramedic 2 years post qualification
- Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in a patient-facing role within a relevant field: General Practice, A & E, Emergency Medicine, acute medicine, Walk in Centres, Substance Misuse Services, Prison Healthcare or Ambulance Service
Licence/Certification
- HCPC/NMC (required)
- Driving Licence (required)
- Must be a UK resident for 3 years + no gaps out of country more than 3 months
All candidates will be subject to Police Vetting.
Role responsibilities
The custody suites can be an energetic place to work, with no two shifts the same. While detained, we provide individuals with their physical, mental healthcare and wellbeing needs, as well as gather any forensic samples needed by the police. You will make careful records on computerised systems, assess fitness for detention or release, administer medications when needed, and work with local Liaison and Diversion teams to address root causes of crime. No previous forensic experience required; training provided.
