We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team at Mitie as we are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable HVAC Technician to carry maintenance on HVAC systems at University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire (UHCW), one of the UK's biggest healthcare facilities.
Position Overview
Responsible for maintaining and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems and performing related duties. Must be able to work in a team‑based setting and share workload and information with team members to ensure client satisfaction.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in maintaining air handling systems.
- City & Guilds 2079 category 1.
- Knowledge of HTM 03-01.
- Experience in refrigeration and air conditioning.
- City & Guilds Level 2 in Air conditioning & refrigeration.
Main Duties
- Carry out mechanical and electrical inspections and maintenance on air handling systems to bring them to optimal performance.
- Service grease bearings and replace bearings on fan and motors as required.
- Change belts and adjust belt tension.
- Replace fan motors and perform laser alignment.
- Replace and clean glass traps where required.
- Change filters.
- Clean air handling units to a high standard.
- Fault finding.
- Take air readings / air change rates.
- Maintain medical and domestic refrigeration units.
- Fault finding on Dx air conditioning system.
- Weekly chiller inspections.
- Change valves and actuators on heating & cooling coils.
