Full Time – 40 Hours Per Week
We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team at University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire (UHCW). This is an excellent opportunity to work within a critical healthcare environment where your expertise will directly support patient care, staff wellbeing, and hospital operations.
As part of our engineering team, you will deliver high-quality maintenance services, ensure compliance with statutory requirements, and contribute to the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical repairs.
- Undertake electrical testing, inspections, fault finding, and certification works.
- Perform electrical safety checks and Portable Appliance Testing (PAT).
- Ensure compliance with current legislation, health and safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults efficiently, minimising disruption to hospital services.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation using computerised management systems.
- Support the continuous improvement of maintenance programmes through proactive inspections and monitoring.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and hospital stakeholders to deliver excellent customer service.
What We're Looking For
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Level 3 City & Guilds Electrical Installation, NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation, or equivalent.
- AM2 Certification.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance and fault finding.
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures and safe systems of work.
- Good IT skills and experience using maintenance management systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Desirable
- Experience working within healthcare, commercial, or critical infrastructure environments.
- Inspection and Testing qualification (City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent).
- Experience within Facilities Management or building services maintenance.
