Mitie Limited is a leading facilities management organisation delivering essential services across the UK. We are seeking a highly capable Continuous Improvement Manager to support our Cumbria Consortium CCS framework contract. This role is central to ensuring that our services remain efficient, resilient, and aligned with client expectations and the regulatory standards of the nuclear environment in which we operate.

We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager to join our team supporting a major client in West Cumbria. This is a standalone role where you will work closely with operational teams, stakeholders, and clients to uncover opportunities, challenge ways of working, and deliver real, tangible improvements. You will take full ownership of the CI lifecycle—driving efficiencies, shaping business cases, and delivering measurable value across a complex and high‑profile contract.

Responsibilities
  • Leading the end-to-end CI process: idea generation, business case development, client presentation, and delivery.
  • Building strong relationships with onsite and offsite teams to identify efficiencies, innovation opportunities, and cost savings.
  • Creating high‑quality written business cases that clearly articulate benefits and solutions.
  • Tracking, prioritising, and delivering approved CI initiatives.
  • Acting as a trusted partner to the client and internal stakeholders.
What You Will Need
  • Proven track record leading continuous improvement or operational excellence initiatives.
  • Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar methodologies in a practical environment.
  • Demonstrated success delivering measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, cost, or customer experience.
  • Experience facilitating workshops, coaching teams, and influencing cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Background in operations, manufacturing, logistics, service delivery, or a similar process‑driven environment.
  • Experience within nuclear, defence, or other highly regulated sectors.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent advanced CI qualifications.
  • Project‑management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM, PMP).
Benefits
  • Virtual GP and wellbeing support for you and your household.
  • Salary Finance: access earned pay before payday and related financial wellbeing options.
  • Flexible lifestyle benefits platform (Choices): options such as extra holiday and other financial protection.
  • Access to high street discounts through MiDeals, cycle-to-work scheme, life cover, enhanced pension contributions, save‑as‑you‑earn scheme, and Mitie Matching Share Plan.
  • Recognition through Mitie Stars with monthly cash prizes and a potential annual top prize.
  • Training and development opportunities across a wide range of resources.

We are committed to an inclusive recruitment process. If you have a disability or long‑term condition and need reasonable adjustments during recruitment, please email Marie Hyde at marie.hyde@mitie.com.
