We have bank opportunities working alongside the Police in custody suites, caring for detainees and contributing to a team with a vision for developing clinical, forensic and wider skills.
What you can expect
You must have the flexibility to work not only in your base Custody suite but across an assigned region in the Police Custody Suites and Force area.
Responsibilities
The custody suites can be an energetic place to work, with no two shifts the same. While detained, you will provide physical, mental healthcare and wellbeing support, gather forensic samples as needed by the police, make careful records on computerised systems, assess fitness for detention or release, administer medications, and collaborate with local Liaison and Diversion teams to address root causes of crime. No previous forensic experience is required; training will be provided.
Qualifications
- Experience – Essential
- RN, RGN or (RMN with dual registration): 2 years post-qualification – Band 5 minimum
- Paramedic: 2 years post-qualification
- Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in a patient-facing role within a relevant field: General Practice, A&E, Emergency Medicine, acute medicine, Walk-in Centres, Substance Misuse Services, Prison Healthcare or Ambulance Service
- Licence/Certification
- HCPC/NMC (required)
- Driving Licence (required)
- UK resident for 3 years + no gaps out of country more than 3 months
- All candidates subject to Police Vetting
