Role Overview
Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services is looking for a Catering Assistant. This is a temporary contract until December 2026, based in HSE Buxton. Working hours are 37.5 per week, with pay of £12.21 per hour. The role requires delivery of excellent service standards, meeting SLA agreements and adhering to cleaning schedules.
Role Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain dining and service areas, including furniture, trolleys, and cleaning equipment.
- Serve food in correct portions and wash dishes, cutlery and catering equipment.
- Clean all catering areas daily and follow health and safety standards.
- Handle cash collection, banking, and maintain records and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with customers, managers and colleagues to deliver excellent service.
What We\’re Looking For
- Previous catering experience in a similar environment (desirable).
- Base Food Hygiene and Health & Safety certificates (training provided if not held).
- Adequate numeracy, literacy and communication skills.
- Passion for customer service and ability to work independently and in a team.
- Adaptable, detail-oriented, confident with strong organisational and time management skills.
