Role Overview
The suitable candidate needs to be self‑driven and have a wanting to improve Compliance. They will manage, develop, and maintain the organisation’s Integrated Management Systems (IMS), covering all Facilities Management activities that will ensure contractual compliance against all Compliance, Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policy / procedures, legislation / best practice, contract KPI targets, and statutory compliance. Drive and implement new ideas that will enhance the contract delivery within the project. Be in regular communication with the Buxton Strategic Leadership Team (SLT) in identifying areas for continuous improvement and implementing using best practice as the norm. Leading site and contractual audits and inspections as required. Liaise with the Client (HSE) to share best practices and site / contract compliance audits and other reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the annual compliance tracker and ensure the implementation of the contractor and site team compliance work.
- PPM planners reviewed and adjusted as required, and auditing tools are updated.
- Maintaining positive client relationships, arranging and leading site meetings.
- Arrange and lead site team meetings with subject leads to review and update service delivery and compliance, ensuring all actions are recorded and jobs raised as required.
- Through compliance work deliver continuous improvement, growth, and income.
- Comply with all Health and Safety legislation and promote Mitie’s policies, to comply with all Mitie and client Safe Systems of Work, Standards, Policies & Procedures.
- Oversee the DCC (Document Control Centre), ensuring all documents, files, data sheets, drawings and plans are updated, maintaining accurate records following the completion of compliance works.
- Create and maintain an annual audit and inspection schedule submitting as per the contractual requirements.
- Creating and maintaining compliance documentation and detailed reports, including the investigation of accidents / incidents occurring to client, staff, visitors and appointed sub‑contractors.
- Undertake compliance works as required to support the contract and site team.
- Ensure the customers are satisfied with the level of service.
- Ensure all compliance is delivered on time and within budget with risk and opportunities identified.
- Liaise with Mitie central QSHE team to keep up to date with the latest safety announcements, Toolbox Talks, LiveSafe bulletins and Safety flashes.
- Ensure all policies, certificates and compliance standards are up to date and displayed.
- Conduct site walk‑arounds to audit areas and ensure the highest levels of safety, Quality and Compliance are being upheld.
- Recognise any environmental or potential environmental impacts that need to be addressed and rectified.
- Undertake sample review of completed planned, reactive and project works.
- Be aware of and contribute to the continuing review of the project Business Continuity Plan.
- Responsible for the day to day running of the Mitie Risk Assessment System at contract level ensuring Senior Management Team are aware of their accountability where risk / COSHH assessments are coming up for review.
- In conjunction with the service stream leads, maintain and monitor regimes for internal audits and inspections, ensuring that all work activities are delivered in accordance with current H&S legislation and compliance with all HR and Commercial Policies is achieved.
- Audit Project, Variation and Life Cycle works to ensure all compliance has been adhered to, including obtaining and correctly filing all O & M, drawings and other related documentation in line with current standards and contractual requirements.
- Oversee PPE for the contract and implement a process as to what PPE is authorised to be used by the team.
- Manage Document control.
- Support for your line manager when on annual leave.
- Planning for the end of contract to strategically ensure all compliance and required documentation such as drawings etc are in place for contract handover.
- Undertake any elements of the contract at the HSE in Buxton within your capabilities, and as directed by your line manager.
- Leading innovations to maintain and better compliance and safety on site.
- Site and team visibility is essential in the role.

Additional Information
- Permanent Hours worked per week 08:00 – 17:00 Mon – Fri (40 hrs) Full Time Reporting direct to the Engineering Service Delivery Manager.
