The Commercial Supply Chain Lead plays a crucial role in assisting the Head of Supply Chain and supporting the Sales Team with pricing strategies while driving commercial opportunities within the supply chain function. This key position is responsible for identifying cost-saving initiatives, managing supplier relationships, and contributing to the generation of new revenue streams to enhance business profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Supply Chain: Work closely with the Head of Supply Chain to deliver strategic objectives and ensure alignment across commercial and operational priorities.
- Identify and Evaluate Opportunities: Proactively identify, evaluate, and recommend commercial opportunities within the supply chain, ensuring successful implementation.
- Annual Price Reviews: Assist in annual price review negotiations to deliver value for the business and its clients.
- Cost Optimisation: Utilise current and anticipated pricing structures to drive cost reductions across the business.
- Revenue Generation: Identify and develop new opportunities for additional revenue streams.
- Supplier Relations: Effectively manage supplier relationships to maximise benefits for the organisation and customers in line with the Head of Supply Chain and Group objectives.
- Supplier Compliance & Conflict Management: Resolve conflicts with suppliers when necessary and ensure compliance with established terms and conditions.
- Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team to maximise commercial opportunities and provide pricing expertise.

- Communication Skills: Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage at all levels within the organisation.
- Organisation & Multi-tasking: Demonstrates strong organisational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Commercial Insight: Exhibits outstanding commercial acumen and an understanding of business dynamics.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience and knowledge of operating within the waste management market are desirable.
- Attention to Detail: Maintains exceptional attention to detail and ensures consistency in all aspects of work.
- Technical Competence: Proficient in Microsoft Office programmes, particularly Excel.
