Our client is a leading high street retailer. As a Store Detective, you will work across their network of stores, using your observation skills to help prevent the theft of stock. The detective team is crucial in the identification, apprehension, and prosecution of criminals who target our client.
Main Duties:- Observe, deter and arrest those taking part in criminal activity in line with the Theft Act.
- Follow the ASCONE process.
- Work with SOC CCTV operators to identify and stop offenders.
- Liaise with the police forces and other crime prevention partners in the areas you will be operating, to remain up to date with crime trends.
- Build a local network to identify and disrupt crime.
- Report incidents accurately and in a timely manner.
- Occasionally attend court to provide evidence.
- Highly adaptable, as each day at a regional store is different.
- Remain calm under pressure and react quickly in challenging situations.
- Experience in a customer‑facing role with a strong customer service background.
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), preferably with a GCSE or equivalent in English.
- Proactive and forward‑thinking approach to work, demonstrating adaptability and a desire to improve existing practices.
- Strongly self‑motivated with a can‑do attitude and a drive to learn.
- Positive, outgoing personality, ready to be part of a strong and established team.
- SIA licence – store detective experience is highly desirable.
- Exceptional observational skills, ability to handle sensitive situations and make quick decisions.
