Retail Security Officer – Lidl – Bromsgrove

Pay rate: £13.00 per hour

Hours: 40 hours a week over 5 days

Location: Lidl – Bromsgrove

Mitie is looking for Retail Security Officers who can deliver exceptional customer service whilst creating a safe shopping environment, free from crime and the fear of crime for customers and colleagues.

Objectives & Responsibilities

  • Work to the Assignment Instructions ensuring all activity is accurately recorded on the correct documents, in line with both the client’s and the company’s quality procedures.
  • Follow the site-specific risk assessments ensuring all activities are completed safely.
  • Set and maintain the highest personal and professional standards as an employee of MITIE and adopt a total quality approach to every aspect of your work, colleagues and clients.
  • Create a safe working environment, free from crime and health and safety related issues for colleagues, contractors and customers.
  • Provide a polite greeting and excellent customer service.
  • Provide a visible security contact for colleagues, contractors and customers.

Main Duties

  • Deliver industry leading customer service.
  • Be clean, tidy and properly dressed wearing full uniform.
  • Deter violence and public order offences.
  • Conduct patrols of the store.
  • Utilise CCTV systems to support the reduction of crime and stock loss.
  • Liaise with the store management teams.
  • Report incidents and crime through leading technology.
  • Liaise with the police and crime partnerships where required to foster a great working relationship to support the reduction of crime in store.
  • Wear body worn CCTV to support in the reduction of crime and increase colleague and customer safety.

Who are we looking for?

  • Experience of delivering customer service.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adaptable communication style to meet needs of different people groups.
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving services business.
  • Capability in the use of technology.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • High level of enthusiasm and passion.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
  • Public Space Surveillance SIA licence is desirable but not essential.
