HSDU Technician – Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services
Location: Russells Hall Hospital, Pensnett Road, Dudley, West Midlands, England, DY1 2HQ
Contract: Permanent, Type of Employment: Part Time, Contractual Hours: 16 per week
Salary: £10,186.07 per annum
About the Role
The HSDU Technician will provide a decontamination service to all theatres, wards and departments throughout the Trust, serving as an integral member of the HSDU team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a decontamination service to all theatres, wards and departments throughout the Trust
- Receive, prepare, wash, sterilise and pack surgical equipment according to departmental policies and procedures
- Operate decontamination equipment safely and conduct routine equipment testing as required
- Manage cleaning and maintenance of workstations, dispose of clinical/household waste, and report equipment defects to Supervisors
- Assist with departmental audits and investigate non‑conformances
- Complete any HSDU training and mandatory training as required
Qualifications & Requirements
- Good level of numeracy and literacy
- Flexible, enthusiastic, self‑motivated and able to work in a very busy environment
- Able to stand for long periods and demonstrate excellent communication skills
- No prior experience required – full training will be provided
