Job Overview
Working as a Detention Custody Support Officer within our team will provide you with the opportunity to maintain high standards of security and safety whilst promoting the welfare and decency of residents within our care. This is a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. You will be responsible for supporting the Detention Custody Officers in our Short-Term Holding Facility at Manston.
Responsibilities
- Maintain security and provide a safe, monitored environment for colleagues and residents.
- Support Detention Custody Officers in daily operations and duties in the Short-Term Holding Facility at Manston.
- Adapt to a range of duties on a daily basis in a changing environment.
Benefits and Working Arrangements
- Salary: £27,825 with excellent benefits
- Working Hours: Shift pattern – 4 on 4 off, 42 hours per week, covering days and nights, weekends and bank holidays
- Paid breaks
- Site operates 24/7/365; rolling roster supports work/life balance
- Pension and Life Insurance
- 22 days holiday
- No Driving Licence required
Training
Upon successful selection and vetting, you will undertake a one-week initial training course to begin your Care and Custody career. For a full Job Specification, please see the attached Job Description.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must have resided in the UK for the past 5 years
- Must be a UK Citizen, Citizen of the Commonwealth or EEC Citizen
- Must hold a valid passport and have no restrictions on stay in the UK
- Enhanced DBS check and vetting to Counter Terrorist Checked (CTC)
- Exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act
